All Saints Church was the venue for this years Church Summer Fayre, held on Saturday 20th June from 2 to 4pm. The Reverend Keith Lackenby began the proceedings with a short prayer followed by Parish Council Chair Brian Suart who welcomed and thanked everyone before declaring the event open. Outside there were all the usual stalls of cakes, tombola, bric-a-brac, greeting cards, plants, bottles, pick a parcel as well as a raffle. The History Group had a display inside the church which included a microfiche reader enabling people to view parish registers. The Group also held a raffle for framed prints of local scenes, with the proceeds going towards Church funds. Making full use of the new facilities in the extension, refreshments of delicious homemade teas were available, which could be enjoyed inside the church or outside.
Apart from a few drops of rain the weather remained mostly dry and very warm for the afternoon. Over £700 was raised from the event going towards the Church funds. Grateful thanks go to all involved in the organising and who supported the event.
